Three-Player Co-op Builds

The natural trinity: tank, DPS, and mage emerge without any class system.

Last updated:

Three is the sweet spot for One More Delve co-op. With three players, the game’s combat sandbox naturally produces a tank-DPS-support trinity without any formal class system. Everyone just picks up weapons and the roles emerge.

Natural Team Roles

The Tank

Runs a one-handed weapon (sword or axe) with a shield. Holds the front line, blocks enemy aggression, and creates space for teammates. This is the most mechanically demanding role because you need to read enemy attack patterns to parry effectively.

The DPS

Carries a two-handed weapon — a warhammer, great axe, or equivalent. Crashes through groups of enemies that the tank holds in place. Requires physical space to swing safely — coordination with the tank is essential.

The Mage

Focuses on fire and lightning spells. Casts at range to burst down priority targets, including bosses. Also carries healing-adjacent spells where available. Needs protection when enemies close in — call for a revive immediately if you fall.

Revival Mechanics

If a player dies in co-op, a teammate can bring them back by holding out their hand at the revival prompt. Do not run past the team to grab loot — staying alive and in formation is more valuable than any single item drop.

Loadout Communication

Before entering a dungeon, briefly align on loadouts. A simple “I’ll tank, you two damage” is enough. The game does not enforce roles, so communication is the only coordination tool.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about One More Delve.

Can I play with only two players?

Yes. Two-player co-op works, though the natural tank-DPS balance shifts. The VR.org reviewer noted that two-player co-op 'feels like an experiment' compared to the three-player sweet spot, but it is fully functional.

Can four players play together?

Technically no official support for four players. Community reports indicate four-player sessions experience significant logistical issues, with half the session spent waiting for load times and tracking fixes. Three players is the recommended maximum.

What happens if my internet disconnects during co-op?

You are dropped from the session. Other players can continue without you. Your loot remains at the last checkpoint. The game added improved server stability in the May 2026 updates, but connection issues can still occur.
