How to Play One More Delve
Everything a new player needs to know — explained with real gameplay footage.
One More Delve is a physics-based VR dungeon crawler that can be played solo or in three-player online co-op. This guide walks you through your first session, from spawning in the hub to completing your first dungeon run.
Starting in the Social Hub
You spawn in the social hub — a safe zone where you can practice combat, craft gear, and meet other players. Before entering your first dungeon, take a moment to orient yourself:
Your starting loadout:
- Basic longsword (right waist holster)
- Small shield (left waist holster)
- Bow (shoulder slot)
- Pickaxe and potions (belt)
- Fire spell (right hand)
- Lightning spell (left hand)
Walk to the practice target in the hub and practice swinging your sword. Feel the weight of the weapon.
Entering a Dungeon
Walk to the dungeon portals in the hub. Start with Dungeon Level 1. Walk through the portal to enter.
Inside the Dungeon
The tutorial only explains movement via message boards. Key things to know immediately:
Combat Basics
- Reach for a weapon at your waist and grip the trigger to pick it up.
- Swing the weapon physically. Full swings deal maximum damage.
- Hold your shield in front of incoming attacks to block.
- Enemies that get too close will negate your swing if you are too close — give yourself arm’s length distance.
Mining
Mine glowing crystals with your pickaxe. Collect every crystal — they are your primary crafting material.
Finding the Exit
If you need to exit, find the portal you entered through and walk back through it.
Completing Your First Run
A complete dungeon run involves:
- Exploring rooms and killing enemies
- Mining all accessible crystals
- Finding the boss room and defeating the boss
- Opening the boss chest for guaranteed loot
- Returning to the hub via the entry portal
Key Tips for New Players
Shield up first: Do not try to kill everything before blocking. Blocking is your survival foundation.
Collect everything: Mining every crystal pays off in crafting upgrades. Do not rush through rooms.
Bank loot before dying: Return to the hub periodically to bank your loot. Any unbanked loot is lost on death.
Use magic on bosses: Open boss fights by dumping your full mana pool. It deals significant burst damage before you switch to melee.
