Controls & VR Setup
Everything you need to know to move, fight, and cast spells in One More Delve.
One More Delve uses standard VR controller mappings with some unique mechanics tied to its physics-based combat system. This guide covers the essential controls for Meta Quest 3 and SteamVR, with notes on platform-specific differences.
Core Movement Controls
Locomotion
Use your left thumbstick to move around the dungeon. Walking is the default; sprinting is toggled via the left thumbstick press (added in the May 2026 sprinting update).
Turning
Use the right thumbstick to snap-turn or smooth-turn, depending on your in-game comfort settings. Snap turning is recommended for VR comfort in tight dungeon corridors.
Sprint & Stamina
The May 2026 update added a sprint system with stamina. Press the left thumbstick to sprint. Stamina depletes while sprinting and regenerates when walking or standing still.
Weapon & Combat Controls
Equipping Weapons
Reach for a weapon at your waist (left/right hand holster) or shoulder slot. Hold the grip trigger to pick it up. To unequip, hold the grip trigger while the weapon is near its holster.
Melee Combat
Swing your equipped melee weapon by physically swinging your arm. The force of your swing determines damage. For two-handed weapons, hold the triggers on both controllers simultaneously.
Shield Blocking
Hold your shield in front of incoming attacks to block. The May 2026 parry rework made blocking significantly easier — the window for counterattacking after a successful block is much wider.
Bow & Arrow
Draw an arrow with your off-hand, position it on the bowstring, pull back, and release. There is no crosshair — aim by physically pointing the bow.
Flintlock Pistols (1.0)
Point and pull the trigger. No nocking required. See New Weapons for more.
Magic Controls
Equipping Spells
Assign spells to each hand at the armory before entering a dungeon. To cast, hold the upper trigger and push your hand forward toward the target.
Mana
Mana is shared across both spell slots. There is no mana toggle — casting automatically draws from the pool. See Mana Management.
Item & Interaction Controls
Health Potions
Health potions are stored on your belt. Reach for them physically and drop or throw them to consume. The physical interaction is intentional — you cannot just press a button.
Mining Crystals
Your pickaxe is on your belt. Reach for it and swing at glowing crystals in dungeon walls to mine crafting materials.
Forge Crafting
In the social hub, select an item blueprint at the forge, then physically hammer on the anvil to craft it. See Forge Guide.
See Quest 3 Controls and SteamVR Controls for platform-specific details.
