Bow & Two-Handed Handling Update

The June 8, 2026 patch overhauled ranged and two-handed combat feel.

Last updated:

On June 8, 2026, ATVR shipped a major combat feel update addressing two of the most common Early Access complaints: bow handling instability and awkward two-handed weapon control.

This patch arrived between the May Dungeon Level 4 content drop and the July 1.0 full release, and significantly improved the usability of ranged and heavy melee loadouts.

Bow Handling Improvements

The bow received a comprehensive stability pass:

  • More stable and easier to aim — reduced erratic movement during draw
  • Builds on the May 1 bow spin fix that stopped the bow rotating out of control near the chest
  • Body collision with the bow removed in the earlier May patch; June further refined aim feel

If you struggled with the bow during Early Access launch week, retry it after this update. Many players who defaulted to magic-only loadouts found the bow viable post-June 8.

Two-Handed Weapon Handling

Two-handed weapons received grip and control improvements aligned with mainstream VR combat conventions:

  • Multiple grip points to choose from when holding two-handed weapons
  • Primary control now follows the top hand, matching other VR sword combat titles
  • Reduced awkward wrist angles during overhead and diagonal swings

Settings & Options

New player-accessibility options shipped in the same update:

  • Toggle sprint — alternative to hold-to-sprint on the left thumbstick
  • Toggle grip — alternative to hold-to-grip for weapon pickup

These options help players with grip fatigue during longer dungeon sessions and are configurable in the in-game options menu.

Two New Spells

The June 8 patch added two new spell types available for purchase at the hub shop. Specific spell names and damage values were not fully documented by ATVR at launch — community testing on Discord remains the best source for comparative spell tier data.

Context: May Patches That Led Here

This update built on rapid May improvements:

  • May 2 — Parry rework, weapon weight reduction, hit registration fixes
  • May 1 — Sprint + stamina, enemy spacing, DX11 launch option
  • May 1 — Bow spin fix, body rotation while aiming, controller haptics

Together, May and June patches transformed One More Delve’s combat from promising-but-rough Early Access to a polished foundation for the July 1.0 release.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about One More Delve.

Did the June update fix bow spinning?

The bow spin issue was primarily fixed in the May 1 patch. The June 8 update further improved overall bow stability and aim feel on top of that fix.

How do I enable toggle sprint?

Open the in-game options menu and look for toggle sprint and toggle grip settings. These were added in the June 8, 2026 patch.

Are the two new spells free?

New spell types are purchased at the hub shop using coins earned from dungeon runs, consistent with the existing spell economy.

Do two-handed weapons still require both triggers?

Yes. Two-handed weapons still require holding triggers on both controllers, but the June update improved which hand leads control and added selectable grip points.
