Fire & Lightning Spells
The most polished combat system in One More Delve — point, push, and devastate.
Magic is the most refined combat option in One More Delve’s current state. Unlike melee, which demands full physical swings and risks collision phasing, magic requires only that you point at a target and thrust your hand forward. Assign fire or lightning to each hand and cast with a simple forward push on the grip trigger.
How Magic Works
You have two spell slots — one per hand. To use a spell:
- Hold the upper trigger on your controller.
- Point your hand at the target.
- Thrust your hand forward to cast.
There is no gesture system. The simplicity is intentional and makes magic the easiest combat style to pick up.
Fire vs Lightning
Both spell types deal area-of-effect damage. Fire spells tend toward sustained damage over time, while lightning delivers immediate burst. Neither is objectively better — both are effective on bosses and groups.
Mana Management
Your mana pool is shared across both hands. Each spell cast consumes a portion of your pool. When mana is depleted, you must wait for it to regenerate before casting again. There is no mana potion — patience and timing are your only controls.
Key strategy: Open every boss encounter by dumping your full mana pool into the boss as quickly as possible. This burst can shave 30–40% of a boss’s health before you switch to melee.
Why Magic Is Recommended for Solo
In solo play, maintaining distance is survival. Magic lets you deal damage safely from range while your mana lasts. Once depleted, retreat to a chokepoint and wait for partial regeneration rather than rushing in.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about One More Delve.
Can I use magic and melee at the same time?
Yes. The hybrid build equips a melee weapon on one hand and a spell on the other. This gives you a flexible combat rotation: magic for burst, melee for sustained damage when mana runs low.
How long does mana take to regenerate?
Mana regenerates automatically over time. The rate has not been publicly documented by ATVR. In practice, expect roughly 15–20 seconds for a full pool from empty during combat.
Are there more than two spell types?
The current publicly known spells are fire and lightning. The May 2026 patch notes mention 2 new spells were added alongside the Dungeon Level 4 update. The specific names and effects of all spells are best confirmed through in-game experimentation.
Is magic viable for all dungeon levels?
Yes. Magic works across all five dungeons. However, higher difficulty settings on Dungeon Level 5 make mana conservation more important — bringing a melee backup weapon is strongly recommended.
